• Each student at Bowen Island Dance Academy is required to respect the rules and regulations of the studio. 
• Students should arrive five to ten minutes before class begins. 
• All jewelry and watches should be removed before class. 
• Long hair must be pulled back in a ponytail for ALL classes. A headband or hair clips must hold back hair that is not long enough to be pulled back into a ponytail. 
• All students at BIDA are required to wear the manditory uniform for all regular scheduled classes (excluding camps)
• Ballet students must wear the ballet uniform which includes: ballet leotard*, tights and ballet slippers.            
• In Jazz, tap, hip-hop, and musical theatre classes students are required to wear the prescribed uniform for each class and the appropriate footwear. 
• Boys tap and Jazz: boys must wear the prescribed boys uniform. 
• Boys Ballet:  Boys must wear the prescribed boys uniform.
• Absolutely NO JEANS allowed!  
• If you show up to class without the appropriate clothing/footwear you will not be allowed to participate.
• ALL Adult Classes wear form fitted clothing that you can easily move in. 
• No food or drinks in the studios. 
• NO CHEWING GUM!
• We require post-dated cheques for each month registered in classes.
• There will be a $20 fee for all returned cheques.

Uniforms

Ballet
Preschool: Pink Tank Leotard, Tights and Ballet Slippers
Primary: Light Blue Tank Leotard, Tights and Ballet Slippers
Grades 1- 5: Burgandy Tank Leotard (available at the studio), tights and Ballet slippers

Jazz & Musical Theatre
All Jazz & Musical Theatre students must wear full length or capri solid black dance pants and a solid black tank leotard (available at BIDA).  Jazz shoes must be split sole, they can be the tie up type or the elastabootie, slip on shoe.  You can also order shoes at the studio.

Tap
All Tap students must wear black tank leotard, and capri dance pants or spandex shorts (available at the studio).  Tap shoes must be full sole.  Please consult the studio before purchasing tap shoes as some brands are better than others.   

Hip Hop
All Hip hop students must wear full length or capri solid black dance pants and a BIDA tank top (available at BIDA).  Hip hop students are required to have jazz shoes, which must be split sole.  They can be the tie up type or the elastabootie, slip on shoe.  You can also order shoes at the studio.

Refund Policy

Withdrawal from classes: 

• If you withdraw from a class before January 31st, 2008 you will receive a refund for the remainder of classes left in the session beginning with the first of the following month. Refund includes the costume deposit. 
• There will be no refunds after the January 31st cut off due to recital preparation and costumes.*

* Refunds will be administered with a doctors note minus costume deposit as costumes are in the process of being made. Dance team students are required to complete the program as it is a full session commitment.  No refunds after December 31st.
